Can babies lose hair due to shampooing their hair?

My boyfriend swears the reason our 4 month old daughter who was born with a full head of hair who is losing her hair because when we give her a bath we wash her hair with johnsons baby shampoo and the ';scrubbing'; of her head is making it fall out. (which keep in mind its not scrubbing more like just a little massage to get the shampoo on the whole head and rinse) Can this be true? I was always just told all babie lose their hair but it gows back...but he wont believe me!Can babies lose hair due to shampooing their hair?
Babies often lose their first hair. My daughter (now 6 years old) was born with a full head of black hair. Her hair was stunning. I live in Sweden (I'm married to a swedish guy). When my daughter was 4 months old I decided to travel to Scotland with her so that all my relatives and friends could see my wee one at last. A couple of weeks before we travelled, she started to lose her hair. When the day came to travel she only had half a head of hair. A couple of weeks later all her hair had gone and her new (light brown) had started to come in.

Her hair is still beautiful - but I remember the shock of her hair coming out so quickly in these early days..... It really was quite dramatic and if I hadn't been prepared for this happening it would have been traumatic too.

Here is a website with information about hair loss in babies:

maybe the baby has that dirt thing i forgot what it called, so when u was da baby hair the hair would fall out. thats wat happen to my son, and now its so long.
You are right. Newborns often lose their ';newborn'; hair and it grows back. It's not because you are scrubbing it off.
everyone had hair b4 you ';real hair'; grows in but you have ';peach fuzz'; that needs to fall of and ';tell you new hair where to grow';

Why ';NO TEARS SHAMPOO'; for Babies only ???

Why don't the Shampoo making company come out with NO TEARS SHAMPOO for Adults too?

Agreed we can bear a little discomfort in our Eyes, But still it's better to have all adult Shampoos with the NO MORE TEARS formula. Why ';NO TEARS SHAMPOO'; for Babies only ???
Those formulas just have a chemical in them that numbs the eyes, they don't clean any less well.

As for adults using that formula - they assume that you are mature enough to close your eyes when you wash your hair. Why ';NO TEARS SHAMPOO'; for Babies only ???
HA..........HA............... GOOD QUESTION. WE THE ADULTS KNOW WHEN SHAMPOO ENTER OUR EYE WE WILL RINSE IT OFF AND IT WILL CAUSE NO DAMAGE. BUT BABIES THEY WILL EVEN CRY TO TAKE BATH WE DONT WHAT FOR THEY ARE CRYING SO THEY ARE USING NO MORE TEARS SHAMPOO . IF YOU WANT YOU CAN ALSO USE THAT IS NOT FOR ONLY BABIES
use it if you want to
For the same reason for which Diapers are only for babies.
because it doesn't clean ur hair as well the stuff that stings ur eyes helps to get dirt and oil out of ur hair
you know.. actually i think they do have a shampoo has a ';no tears'; formula.. i cant remember the name but i THINKK that it was a garnier fructis shampoo
I know it seems ridicules, but the idea is when the babies cry its so hard while bathing making them stop,by the way I use the baby shampoos cause they are the best the make my hair look good. They said its for babies but they didn't say its NOT for adults!!
Anybody can use a baby shampoo, but most adults will find that it isn't a strong enough detergent to effectively clean away all the dirt and grease and styling products.
because baby is fragile and don't know how to clean the shampoo by itself...

ah... actually u can use it too... one of my friend did that!
who said there's no such shampoo's for adults??/
if your that worried you can use it too :)

its not for babies and babies only :)
HAHA!

Good question.

I sometimes use them too, so should you (;
hey thats a good one eh??? who said its just 4 babies..... i've tried it .....its actually good....... its 4 ya too.... check it out
Use it then. It actually makes your hair smell great and feel soft. I've tried it.
Because adults are used to crying., once you become an adult its one worry or the other so what difference does it make?

Baby Shampoo?

Does Baby Shampoo help with adult hair?

I've heard that people use it because it makes hair healthy...is that true?

What are some other effects?Baby Shampoo?
I like to use it because of the detangler in it. It also seems to make my hair nice and soft and it comes in such nice scents.Baby Shampoo?
It can be really drying on hair. Haircare products made for adults are slightly acidic to cater to their hair needs. Baby shampoos are more basic to help with issues like cradle cap and prevent tear formation when it gets into the eye. It's not designed for adult hair, and again, can be drying.

It can work for you if you use just a tiny amount, or if you have problems with other shampoos causing problems with your eyes. Just dilute it so it's less drying.
Shampoo is shampoo...the rest is just hype, so don't listen to it. The good thing about baby shampoo is that it is gentle. What's gentle enough for a baby is obviously just fine for an adult. It won't do anything magical, though--unless you consider no tears magical.
it can be used on adult hair... but remember your hair versus baby hair is WAY different... and you need to be aware of the chammomile in the shampoo.. it can cause damage to adult hair
I've never used baby shampoo on my hair but I know for sure that it takes off makeup good no tears and it gentle on your skin!
i like baby shampoo because it is awesome
It smells good, and no tears!

  • Is collagen in shampoo & conditioner made from aborted babies?

    This Christian boy in my class says it is and I'm like no way so went to the drug store and looked at shampoo bottles and one said collagen with (hydrolized animal protein) after it. I said that don't sound like a baby and he's like ';animal protein--we're animals. What do you think they do with all them buckets of babies?';

Is he right? I haven't used shampoo with that stuff since he told me and my hair is getting all frizzily. Is collagen in shampoo %26amp; conditioner made from aborted babies?
    It's not from abortions.

It's from the foreskins when they circumcise baby boys. That's why nearly every guy in America is circumcised. The shampoo companies have bribed the doctors. Is collagen in shampoo %26amp; conditioner made from aborted babies?
what? this doesn't belong in this forum....
I've heard that, too, but I think that's a myth. Collagen does WONDERS for the hair. You gotta use it, my dear.
God NO! They do, however, use rendered animal carcasses, i.e. roadkill (goes to the rendering plant and turns into soaps and lotions).

    Sorry, but hey, you asked.
    LMAO

    My but you're gullible.
he's an idiot. The truth is hot dogs are made from aborted babies.
gullible indeed. as in austin powers ';get my baby back, baby back....ribs! get in my belly baby!.

    lol
Collagen in shampoos and conditioners is NOT made from aborted fetuses.

Companies use the cheapest material to make their products.

Cows, sheep and other domestic animals have lots of collagen in their hides and skin. When they slaughter these animals for food, they process the skin to get the collagen.

This is the cheapest, most plentiful, and easiest way of obtaining lots of collagen.

Aborted fetuses, while they have collagen in their skin, are so small that you would only be able to get a tiny amount of collagen from each one. Plus, the numbers of aborted babies is so few that you could not get anough collagen to supply industrial quantities needed to make shampoo and conditioner.

Plus, it is repulsive and repugnant to think anyone would use aborted fetuses in this way.

Even if a crazy shampoo company wanted to use aborted fetuses, if anyone found out, it would be headline news and the company would close in a second.
it IS made from animals, however, it is NOT from babies!

it comes from fibrous proteins (common in animals). thing is, the protein is hydrolyzed, meaning the protein decomposes by using water

it really helps coz it helps your hair to repair itself. besides, our hair is protein itself...

so dont fall for it... otherwise, it's an urban legend... and why did you post it here anyway? haha

What are the best natural/organic soaps, lotions, shampoos, and laundry detergents for babies?

My 4 month old baby has quite bad heat rash/eczema and I would like to try some different products since what I have been using/doing has not been helping. I will be going to the health food store tomorrow. Please let me know what worked for you and your opinions. Thanks! What are the best natural/organic soaps, lotions, shampoos, and laundry detergents for babies?
Savon de Marseille from Le S茅rail The French Soap Store (www.frenchsoapstore.com). It's all natural, handmade soap that doesn't produce any irritation. What are the best natural/organic soaps, lotions, shampoos, and laundry detergents for babies?
There are a lot of things you can do to be more eco friendly and green. I try to gather all of the tips I can to help the environment, and put them into action. Sometimes just the smallest change can make a difference. You will also come to find that being green can be more cost effective.

Which shampoo and oil is gud for babies dry skin?

is organic product is gud for babies skinWhich shampoo and oil is gud for babies dry skin?
Well I don't know how gud it is but I know that Aquaphor soap is GREAT when they have dry skin. My daughter has a bad problem with that and thats what I use when she gets so crazy dry. Also buy some Johnsons Shea Butter lotion. Best I have used.Which shampoo and oil is gud for babies dry skin?
elave junior intensive cream for dry sensitive skin. it works on my both nieces.
Johnson %26amp; Johnson has the best products when it comes to child care . the other brands i find sometimes on sale weren't as good . i myself recommend the shampoo they produce for children to be used by adults for daily use .
I absolutely LOVE Johnson %26amp; Johnson's Baby Oil Gel...my baby was getting dry skin on his legs %26amp; hands and I bought the Shea Butter lotion %26amp; it didn't work. I tried the baby oil gel %26amp; he hasn't had dry skin since. Try it....I LOVE it!!
Johnson and Johnsons is the brilliant stuff. I use it myself for dry skin (I have very sensitive skin and have to use baby wash/lotions) and it takes no time at all to work.
I like to use natural products. I don't like to use Johnson and Johnson products because they contain so many chemicals and synthetic fragrances. Most Synthetic fragrances contain phthalates. Phthalates have been linked to reproductive abnormalities. ';Babies are considered more vulnerable to developmental and reproductive toxicity of phthalates given their immature metabolisms.'; CTV.ca ';Baby products may contain harmful chemicals'; Anyways check out the ingredient list of any Johnson and Johnson product. That many chemicals cannot be good for adults, let alone babies.

Check out your local health food store and see what they carry. But remember some products say they are organic or ';all natural'; but they contain loads of junk. As for oil, you can buy apricot kernel oil, which is very light full of antioxidants and great for your baby's skin and your skin.

Ohh and umm where is your source?
Did you know that placentas used in some shampoos are from afterbirth as well?

Hate to tell ya this, but organs and tissues of most humans and some animals are used in everyday products.
It sounds like you are doing some political grand standing instead of asking a serious question!
mmm i like the feeling of dead unborn babies going all over me.
OK OK now I think I heard it all but that's ******* nuts because there is no evidence that your provided us to take a look for ourselves therefore I don't believe a damn word your saying I know shampoo some are made from animals but I don't use any products that have been tested on animals therefore I think you need to post a link for us all to read this ourselves because your obviously nuts or loco ka baco in the noggin..LMAO
