could it be seriousMy 1 year old baby is having a very itchy scalp ,i feel bad for him and i change the shampoo it didnt work?
yes he may have a fungus and thats not easy to cure or something in his pillow or sheets or mattress or his rug in his bedroom , he may have fleas for the animals if you have a dog or cat . possibly anything wash his hair every morning when he wakes up and rinse with a mild viniger like a little white viniger to a lot of water it will insure you rise all the soap out of his hair . oh did you get him a hair cut from a barber or salon they may of used dirty equipment on his head and transfered something . scabies . is very hard to detect and very itchy cuz they are just under the skin . so take him to the dr try phyoderm or maybe even something likehead and shoulders may help calm it down . poor guyMy 1 year old baby is having a very itchy scalp ,i feel bad for him and i change the shampoo it didnt work?
I'm 12 years old, and I have psoriasis on my scalp. Does he have flakes coming off? Does he have orangish yellowish crust on his scalp? It looks like little scabs? If he does, he probably has psoriasis. I dont know how well he lets you rinse his hair, but can you use shampoo that is for adults, not babies? If it gets in his eyes, it might hurt. Try these shampoos:

Selsun Blue (works the best so far)

Head and Shoulders

T-Gel (use every week or two)

And shampoo that is for psoriasis, dandruff or itchy scalp.

Good luck. :D
See your pediatrician. Could be an allergy. Does the baby scratch his head? I wondering about him getting an infection.

There could be other causes that could be a real problem so get it checked before it gets worse. Might need a dry shampoo. Your doctor can recommend the best shampoo. He may want to give you a medicated shampoo.

Don't worry mom, this is what babies do.
It could be serious, but more likely, he's just got dry skin. Best thing I've found is coconut oil. Best thing for diaper rash, too! Really amazing stuff.

Make sure you get organic oil, not solvent extracted. Water extraction is the best.

I buy it online at www.tropicaltraditions.com, but any good health food store in your area should have it.
Probably just a dry scalp. Rub a little virgin olive oil on the scalp and leave it as long as possible. Then wash. The dry flakes should come right off, and give the baby some relief.
It may be cradle cap which is quite common. I would pop him along to the doctor who can make a proper diagnosis and maybe prescrible a suitable shampoo.
I think the best you could do is just ask your doctor
