Does Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo really contain framaldahied? And does it cause cancer?

A friend of mine had a baby around the same time as me. One day at work she said she was going to give me all the Johnson and Johnson products she recieved as gifts, as she would not need them. Knowing she is the mother of a newborn I ask what was up. She said she would not allow the products to touch her baby because of the ingredients. She said she is using a prouduct from melaluca or something like that. I had never heard this, so I went online to find out more. I found some info but I am still curious. My parents used Johnson and Johnson when I was a baby and I am still here. Should I take her advice and throw it all out?Does Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo really contain framaldahied? And does it cause cancer?
I wouldn't be concerned. I'm a nurse at a neonatal intensive care unit and we use J %26amp; J products on our premature babies. I used them on my daughter as well.Does Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo really contain framaldahied? And does it cause cancer?
It seems if J%26amp;J was using something harmful, they wouldn't be such a popular brand among parents. I dont know though. However, I wanted to comment on the Melaluca...My cousin uses melaluca products..she swears by them...personally, i dont see anything special about it, other than *supposedly* if you ingested any of their products (ranging from candles, to cleaners, laundry detergent, etc) it wouldn't harm you. Who knows...anyway...I wouldn't worry about it. Id take the products, thank her, and think about the amount of money you saved for a while. :)
Formeldahyde (sp?) isn't as bad as it sounds. It would be poisonous to drink, but babies aren't drinking it, at least not that I know of.

Whe I was a kid, I shook a bottle of the stuff (my mom kept it for cleaning), and some of it got in my eye. It hurt like a mo-fo, but my mom called the hospital and they said it wouldn't harm me unless I drank it.
